Ken Will Morton's debut album on Sojourn Records, produced by Mark Ambrosino at The Madhouse studio, sounds like a classic record with the type of songwriting one equates with household names. The fact that Ken is relatively unknown and penning and singing such elegantly crafted, yet raw and authentic songs perhaps has us listen even closer. This has not been an easy path but it has been unadulterated perseverance that keeps Ken moving forward. He fits the mold of his forefathers in the genre and has created a unique style, instantly recognizable as it is real. There is much loss and sadness in Ken's songs but he looks forward with an odd optimism after having been through so much. Whether he's punch drunk or on a mad mission or musing pensively as a monk, Ken has a vision that you know he plans on seeing through. A recording that is going to stand the test of time.
